Main website ForJane - Fighting SUDEP
Despite very good health, we lost my sister Jane Swarbrick at the young age of 24, on 19th April 2011, unexpectedly from an epileptic fit. The coroner stated the cause of death was SUDEP.
Jane's death was possibly needless. If we had been told about SUDEP at any point during Jane's 19 years with epilepsy by her GP's or consultants, we would have done more to protect her. She'd potentially still be here. That is why we are campaigning. Other families don't deserve to go through this pain.
Thirt-two friends and family are taking part in the Blenheim Triathlon on 09/06/2012 (hence Jane96) to raise money and awareness of SUDEP, for both Epilepsy Bereaved and Epilepsy Society who campaign and research into this. However fundraising via SMS Texts & JustGiving goes to only Epilepsy Bereaved because of a limitation of JustGiving.
Our primary fundraising is through a virgin money giving page. Any JustTextGiving donations will be shown as 'offline donations' to the VMG donation page to try to reach our £20,000 target!
