Story
Saint Michael's is here for people who need extra support on top of the day-to-day care they receive from GPs, district nurses, hospital teams and nursing home staff. Without the hospice, these people could be left to face the complex issues and forgotten challenges of terminal illness alone. We care for people with a variety of terminal illnesses, including heart failure, respiratory illnesses and neurological conditions; as well as cancer. Your donations are vital in raising the £5 million that we spend annually providing this care.
In 2018 I trekked for Saint Michaels for the first time, exploring the Canyons of Arizona & Utah, raising close to £6,000 in the process.
2020 was to be my next challenge, then due to the pandemic it was pushed back to 2021 and now once again I have had to move the date back to 2022.
So this time it's looking like its going to happen at last, Really looking forward to returning to Africa for the first time in 30 years.
My first sighting of this beautiful continent was from a plane window back in my twenties when I looked down on Kilimanjaro, never guessing that one day I would be climbing it for such an incredible cause.
Our family experienced the kindness and care of Saint Michaels during the last week or two of Dad's life and this is a small way of giving something back.
Thank you so very much for your support.
