Story

I've resolved to put my daily exercise allowance towards a good cause, and help Team Triangle clock up 1,000 miles in aid of Centrepoint's vital work to prevent young people from becoming homeless. If you're able to chip in any small amount, please do!

It's a desperate time for the charity as the health crisis brings with it an economic crisis, but the vulnerable still need a place to call home, a place where they can stay safe. Centrepoint has great success stories in keeping young people off the streets - their work really makes a difference.

With fundraising events having to be abandoned due to Covid-19,  Team Triangle has devised a ‘triangathlon’, involving hiking, running and cycling the equivalent distance of some of the UK’s most treasured landmarks, clocking up a total of over 1,000 miles to raise funds for Centrepoint – that's Scafell Pike, Hadrian’s Wall and Lands’ End to John o’Groats all rolled into one!

The Triangathlon challenge

Limited to home gym equipment and once-daily outside exercise, we won’t actually get to cycle, run or hike up these iconic locations but equipped with our imaginations and very worthy motivations, nothing will stop us covering an equal distance – here goes!

Hike – Standing at 978 metres, we will hike the height of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, in flights of stairs (412 in total!)

Cycle – Conquering the 874 miles between Britain’s North and South divide, we will cycle the distance from Lands’ End to John o’Groats

Run – Stretching 73 miles from coast to coast, we will run the equivalent of Roman Britain’s Hadrian’s Wall and back again (that's 146 miles in total!)

We will be tracking our progress throughout the lockdown using Strava and will post updates as we go.

If you can spare a few pounds to support us in our goal, please do donate – every penny goes towards helping vulnerable people during this unprecedented time. Thank you and wish us luck!
