Richard Parr, a valued husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, was diagnosed in June 2009 with Mesothelioma. This is a type of lung cancer caused by Asbestos fibres getting into your lung. This is caused by people working primarily in the building trade, electricians, plumbers, shipbuilders, bricklayers etc... However Richard never did any of these.
Richard sadly passed away on the 13th February 2011 after a gruelling 19 month battle with this terrible disease.
We want to help support the continued research into this incurable disease, help the charities that continue to help victims and their families, and hopefully help towards finding a cure one day...
Danny (Rick's son) and Terry (Rick's nephew and friend) will be doing the 2011 Tatton Triathlon in Tatton Park, Cheshire on the 10th September 2011. The triathlon is made up of a 400m open water swim, a 10km bike ride, and a 2.5km run to finish off. If any of you think that sounds easy, get in touch and do it with us!! Anyone that does it with us can help raise even more money, and we will all appreciate this more than you can imagine.
Danny, Jonny, Ryan, Shaun, Adam and Jon took part in the Cheshire Triathlon on the 22nd May 2011 and made a significant contribution towards the total raised as it stands.
