Story
On Sunday 18th September 2022 I will be running the Bates Green Gallop in the heart of the East Sussex countryside to raise money for East Sussex WRAS, a charity which I have been involved with for over 27 years now.
There is a crisis in East Sussex currently and our wildlife is suffering! East Sussex WRAS needs to raise funds to help build a new and improved Casualty Centre to provide hospital facilities to our local wildlife.
With various rescues close either permanently or temporarily, and other operating at a reduced service, space is now at a premium. Rescue centre are desperate to help but the resources just aren't there to cope with the workload.
WRAS is a well established and award winning animal welfare charity and needs your support to raise the much needed funds.
To East Sussex WRAS it doesn't matter whether it is a pigeon or Peregrine Falcon, if they are injured they suffer just the same. All our wildlife deserves better and they all deserve the right to be treated professionally and with compassion. Currently hundred of wild animals and birds are being euthanised by vets practices or just left to suffer because rescue centres don't have the space to take them in. It heart break for all and very frustrating to watch this crisis unfolding in East Sussex due to the closer and restricted service of some organisations. East Sussex WRAS has expanded bit by bit over the last 26 years and has a proven track record in completing its goals of expanding and achieving its aims and objectives. This can't be done without the public's support. Our wildlife is our heritage and part of what makes East Sussex such a beautiful and amazing place to live. They need you, they need your help and support. Please help them in their time of crisis.
