Story

The COPS 30 miler is as close as it gets to the real thing and aims to raise significant funds for the Care of Police Survivors charity (COPS), along with the Royal Marines Charity. All proceeds are shared equally between the two charities. 2018 will be our third year, with successful editions being held during the summers of 2016 and 2017.

Personally, COPS is a charity that does fantastic work for the families of fallen officers and I am proud to be associated with. I am a COPS Trustee and son of PC Ian Woodward who was killed in the line of duty in 1987. It is an honour to support these charities associated with our Police and Armed Forces who do such a fantastic job keeping our country safe. I got a late invite, so will be tough, but I’ve always wanted a crack at this before I get too old .... ha

With the recent and ever present attacks on our police and the terrible death of PC 7605 Andrew Harper we ever more need to support our police forces, armed forces and emergency services who put their lives on the line daily for us all.
