Story
I ran my first marathon in 2019 following a challenge from my then president Bert Napier, It was a couch to marathon challenge. Whilst I was unfit and overweight I am always up for a challenge, I thought that I would only ever run one marathon, raise some money for charity and as long as I finished the same day time wasn’t important. It really was a case of run fat boy run!
Whilst running London I also met a colleague from APAC Emma Wright (aka Superwomen) an amazing individual, who told me that she was running London as part of the BIG6! The BIG what ? I had never heard of the BIG6 . Emma inspired me to want to run the BIG6, so I set myself the challenge to complete the BIG6 within 3 years, then COVID struck and lockdown.
I’m now resetting the clock, to complete the BIG6 within 3 years starting with London in October 2022, followed by New York in November 2022 and then Tokyo on March 2023.
Every marathon will be an opportunity to support a charity and give back, starting with London and New York I will be supporting the Wooden Spoon charity.
Thank you for supporting my BIG6 challenge.
