Team Anita are taking part in the YorkshireThreePeaks to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. This amazing charity strives to change the lives of everybody affected by dementia. They do everything to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and loved ones. 

Alzheimer’s Society not only find to help find a cure for this horrendous disease. They also campaign for change to things such as the care system, and to treat everyone suffering with dementia with the upmost dignity and respect. 

This disease is slowly taking away my best friend in the whole world, my mum. This, combined with COVID has meant I’m only just starting to see my mum after over a year as she is in full time care, at 63 years old.  The change in her is heart wrenching to say the least after being isolated from her friends and family for well over a year. I cannot thank the carers who have been looking after my mum enough, they deserve the world and raising money for changes and support to the care system is something super close to my heart also. 

So I’m taking on this challenge for my mum. To make her proud and to give something back to this amazing charity. I would do anything to try and raise some funds so that hopefully, one day,  other people don’t have to go through this heartache and watch their loved ones be taken away.
