Iolo Williams has become the latest celebrity to join the Velindre Kilimanjaro Trek of a Lifetime! Well known for his wonderful wildlife television programmes Iolo is a leading expert on Welsh birdlife and has travelled extensively across the World pursuing his interest in wildlife, flora and fauna.

This will be the first time that the Birdman will have taken on the challenge of trekking 19,340 ft to the roof of Africa. Iolo said “Climbing Kilimanjaro has always been something I’ve intended to do, but have never quite got around to doing; when the opportunity came up to join the Velindre trek, especially in the company of Martyn Williams and many others, it was too good an opportunity to turn down.

Everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer and I’m really pleased to be able to contribute, and ensure that the Trek of a Lifetime raises a significant amount for Velindre Cancer Centre.
