Story
I am walking 13 miles in the Peak District for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity close to my heart, with the mission to support those with Dementia and their families.
My grandma has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and now requires 24-hour nursing care. As a family, we are experiencing first-hand the affect that this disease is having on my grandma and those close to her. The Peak District, especially Bakewell, is an area my grandma loved to visit which makes this walk so special.
Dementia is one of the main causes of disability later in life. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
