Story
Im walking in memory of my Nana Mary Rowland who after a long battle with Alzheimers sadly passed away back in summer 2019. Im walking in the hope that the money raised will help fund much needed research to help progress treatments and improve the lives of those currently battling this awful disease and hopefully one day find a cure.
It's so hard watching a beloved family member struggle to battle this awful disease, feeling completely helpless and powerless to stop its progress. My Nana was an incredible woman, truly selfless and kind, would do anything to help people and always had time to stand chat to folk. She was (and always will be) my hero and a source of inspiration. I have struggled to deal with her passing and i'll miss her always. This grief has motivated me to do something positive and to take up this challenge to help raise funds in her memory so that future generations have a hope for a cure.
Walking through the countryside with my grandparents was a big part of our summer holidays growing up so i can think of no better way to get involved and help raise money for this fantastic charity. I know she would be with me every step of the way.
