Story

Some of you may be aware that my mum has been suffering from Alzheimer's for the last couple of years. Unfortunately she's had to move into a care home and though physically still quite fit, the disease is sadly slowly taking her away from us.

It's a dreadful condition so I've signed up do this 26 mile trek in the Lakes (it was previously in the Brecon Beacons which I would have preferred given Mum was born near the route, but Welsh government restrictions don't allow a gathering of more than 50 people even outdoors, so ....).

I've been doing some training, though only on the relatively flat terrain around home, and it's been a lot harder than I imagined so it's entirely possible that I've underestimated the scale of the challenge (apparently it will be 8-9 hours walking!!)

Please donate whatever you can, I'm sure many of you will have seen family members struck down by this disease, it really is the cruellest of conditions.

Hope everyone is keeping well.
