Story

We are joining this challenge because this cruel illness affects so many families. It's heartbreaking to see someone you love, who you have always depended on as a constant strength, suddenly become dependant on you. We lost our father and grandfather, Glynne The Boxer, three years ago. Daddy was diagnosed in 2011 with vascular Dementia. He remained physically fit until he sadly suffered cardiac Arrest while out walking and passed away. He of course had memory loss and confusion which was deteriorating all the time, but we were saved the pain of seeing him in the latter stages of this devastating illness. We hope the funds we raise will help with research and cure and that someday, nobody will have to suffer the indignity and no family will have to go through the pain of watching their loved ones suffer. Thank you to all who donate.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
