Story
I have always relished a challenge whether at work or at home but a few years ago my lovely Dad was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and this has been the biggest challenge of all.
I have agreed to join Tracey on this trek, because we've kind of been through this together in different ways and I would like to raise awareness of this dreadful disease.
Dementia comes in many forms, none of which include just "forgetfulness" there are many more issues to deal with along the way, hallucinating is common, sundowning is another term you become familiar with, loss of mobility, loss of speech, inability to make a decision, violence, anger, frustration to name just a few.
If you have a loved-one living with Dementia, find someone to talk to who is also going through the same, someone who understands, they are often a lifeline which is vital!
