Story
Miles for Moggies - I will be running 52 miles in April
I've volunteered for Stafford & District Branch for about 30 years and as I am now the Treasurer I am in a good place to know the last 2 years have been very hard on the fundraising team. Without any of the usual face to face fundraising events, in 2021 we still managed to home nearly 200 cats and raise the funds to cover the associated cat care costs of nearly £30,000.
Recovering from surgery and a course of radiotherapy late last year I started running in January, signing up for this challenge is a perfect way to keep me running whilst at the same time boosting funds to support our work .
I’ve volunteered & been volunteered for many tasks and challenges over the years, why not another I thought, however, I’m not just going to run my 26 miles over the month of April, I have been "volunteered" to run an additional 26 miles on behalf of our Coordinator, Cath!!
I’m over 60 so not exactly a spring chicken but I will do it!
On a completely personal basis, for every £1 raised for our charity, both myself and Cath are going to donate 50p (up to a max of £100 each) to a charity helping animals from Ukraine.
Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.
Cats Protection has simple and clear objectives to help cats:
Homing - Finding good homes for cats in need

Achieving this vision is only made possible due to kind cat lovers who support our work.
