Story
At this time of year the rail industry is normally looking forward to one of the highlights of our social calendar, The Railway Ball.
It's an evening of glitz and glamour with a heart of gold as rail professionals and industry leaders unite in support of the sectors favourite charity, Railway Children. It is an annual opportunity to not only come together from across the sector, but also to join forces in raising a substantial amount of money for our industrys favourite charity, Railway Children.
This year, with the world still reeling from the impact of COVID-19, the very difficult decision to cancel the Railway Ball has been made. This is disappointing for those who enjoy the event, but potentially devastating for the children whose lives are transformed by the money it raises. The loss of these life-changing funds will leave a gaping hole in Railway Childrens income, potentially leaving some of the most marginalised children on the planet facing even more terrifying futures.
As an industry, we cannot let that happen.
Senior figures from across UK rail have joined forces to create a brand-new fundraising extravaganza for 2020 Rail Aid.
We are uniting as an industry for a week of energy, activity, fun and a whole host of fundraising activities, all building up to the events culmination an exciting live broadcast on Friday 27th November. There are numerous ways to get involved, as organisations or individuals, with bingo nights, dancing challenges, quiz events and many more ideas available.
What is TfWRS doing to get involved and support this event?
Here at TfWRS, we are hosting a 'Get on Track 5-5-5' challenge and a virtual raffle at every staffed location for your chance to win a prize!

Every pound raised, sponsored or simply donated will help Railway Children be there for vulnerable children around the world who need them now more than ever. Together we can make sure they stay safe now, and as the world recovers from the impact of this devastating pandemic. The business will match fund the amount we raise to donate to Railway Children.
