Trans Global Bike Race · 8 April 2020
A team of international endurance cyclists from around the world – calling themselves the ‘League of Extraordinary Cyclists’ – have come together to ride around the globe in the month of April 2020. We will be collectively cycling the 98,500 km – starting and ending in Italy – as part of a virtual race to raise money for communities battling the effects of covid-19. We will be racing according to the rules of isolation, from our homes, gardens or local areas.
Our chosen charity is Médecins Sans Frontières. They are already on the front lines where they can effectively help the most vulnerable. In addition to preparing communities to fight potential outbreaks, MSF’s experts are deploying trained medical professionals, sending supplies and applying nearly 50 years of experience to protect the vulnerable and save lives.
You too can help:
- €18 (£16) can pay for a surgical tunic, trousers and a pair of sterile reusable gloves.
- €32 (£28) can pay for protective plastic goggles for four doctors.
- €66 (£58) can pay for sterile gloves for 30 medics.
- €125 (£110) can pay for five protective suits to keep staff safe.
Our stories will be shared on Facebook, Strava and other media. Please donate, if you can, to help us help others in these challenging times.
