Story
As a team we want to give something back to a local charity which is very close to our hearts. Their helicopter regularly flies over our offices to land at Lincoln County Hospital to get patients suffering from the most serious of illnesses and devastating injuries, providing the best possible treatment as quickly as possible. In 2022 the LNAA its busiest year ever when it responded to more than 1,620 incidents.
From becoming fully registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to increased night flying, from carrying more blood on board to being despatched to more incidents than ever, the charity has continued to develop and deliver its life-saving service.
Night missions increased and 602 missions were carried out during the hours of darkness, more than double the amount undertaken in 2021. This makes LNAA the only air ambulance in the East Midlands operating throughout the hours of darkness. The amount of blood carried on board the helicopter and critical care cars has increased to four units of red blood cells and four units of fresh frozen plasma.
The LNAA is one of the UKs leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Charities, funded purely by the generosity of people like you. They are not part of the NHS and not funded by the Government.
