Story
UPDATE - we did it!!! All 25 of us made it back in one piece, slightly bruised and battered, but back home exhausted but exhilarated. The trek was so much tougher than we were expecting and we didn't have great weather for two days of trekking, but hey, that's why it was called a "challenge" and we were sponsored to do it! Thanks to those that have already sponsored me, if you would still like to, there is still time and all money will go directly to the patients of St Clare Hospice. Thanks :o)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This year I'm setting myself a new challenge......trekking across the ! Not only is the fundraising target pretty high but I'll be trekking for 6-8 hours a day for five days along windy hills, narrow paths high up above ground, up and down uneven steps, sleeping in very basic accommodation.....and I've got to learn how to eat with chopsticks!!! I fear I may go very hungry.
Through working for St Clare, I have seen the really wonderful work they do for their patients and their families so I know the money will be put to very good use. It costs around £2.3 million every year for the Hospice to deliver it's services free of charge, but they only receive 26% of this funding from the NHS.
Thank you VERY much to everyone who has supported me so far:
Quiz night in April - £465
June and Brenda's May Fayre stall and July tombola - £80 + £99.50
Fashion Show in May - £587
’s loose change collection - £10.08
August quiz night - £428
I've still got a little way to go to hit that target and would be very grateful if you could sponsor me for this challenge, it would mean a lot to me and St Clare.
xx
