20 years ago my lovely Grandad died.  4 years ago my wonderful and amazing Nan also died.  They both suffered from cancer.

My Auntie Pat also suffered from cancer, but thankfully after treatment she is a cancer survivor.

I'm sure you all have your own story to tell.  Most of you will be related to or know someone who has suffered from cancer, not all of them will have sad endings.  But some of them do, and that is why research is so important in the continual fight against cancer.

I am running this half marathon in memory of my beautiful Nan and Grandad and for my Auntie Pat who is an inspiration to us all that life after cancer is possible.
