Story
We lost a very special person in our life on the 23rd December 2013. She had been bravely fighting Pancreatic Cancer for only twelve weeks and we feel that by donating money to this worthwhile charity it will help others still fighting this battle. It will also help to support the research needed to diagnose this terrible disease earlier and prevent others having to go through the same pain and emptiness that we now feel.
My sister Amanda wrote this poem, if it touches your heart then please donate to this wonderful charity to help others with pancriatic cancer !!!
My wonderful auntie Mags:
...When you started to feel unwell,
We didn't have the answers.
But no one prepared us for the news,
That you had pancreatic cancer.
You fought through twelve weeks gracefully,
And always had a smile,
Your family stayed right by your side,
To be with you for a while.
We liked talking about all the good times,
We shared memories of special days.
We wanted you to feel treasured and loved,
While happy in some way.
The time went by so quickly,
And we wished that it would stop,
The pain that you were feeling,
We all wished that we could swap.
Your family at your bedside,
While Donna stroked your hair.
To say a last goodbye to you,
Was a pain we all did share.
Nana and Grandad had come for you,
To welcome and show you the way.
And although our hearts were breaking,
They couldn't leave you another day.
As your last breath grew closer,
Your final breath of air.
We didn't want to believe it,
It was cruel and just not fair.
But then we realised you're now at peace,
And not suffering anymore.
You were beginning the life of an Angel,
And your body would no longer be sore.
Auntie Margaret you filled everybody's world,
And we will miss you so very much.
We wish we could feel your cuddles,
And your soft and gentle touch.
But for now we have to wait,
Until we meet again.
You will always be in our hearts and thoughts,
An auntie, and often a friend.

Pancreatic Cancer is the 5 leading cause of UK Cancer deaths with the worst survival rate of all cancers yet it only receives 1% funding. The 5 year survival rate of 3% has not improved in over 40 years.
It is termed the “silent killer” as many GP’s do not recognise the symptoms resulting in lost time before diagnosis. By this time in many cases, the prognosis is terminal.
