Story
On September 19th I will be taking part in the Bupa Great North Run in Newcastle, as part of the team raising money for Parkinsons UK. I would be very grateful of your donation to the charity to support the research needed to hopefully find a cure for this awful disease.
I have an auintie who is currently suffering from the disease. My nan also had Parkinsons so I have witnessed how this awful disease is first hand, and the effects it has on families supporting the sufferer.
Parkinsons disease is a degenerative neurological condition which is caused by a lack of dopamine being produced by the brain, as a result of brain nerves dying. The brain needs the dopamine as it acts a chemical messenger sending signals to the body that allow for co-ordination of movement. Without the Dopamine it means that these signals are not transmitted correctly and the sufferer loses control of their movements (Resulting in tremor/shaking and balance problems). Parkinsons disease effects one in five hundred in the UK, and around five million world wide.
Most sufferers rely daily on a large number of drugs to help to control the tremors/shaking and to try to increase their quality of life. At present there is still no cure. So any amount you can spare to go towards this charity to find a cure would be really greatly appreciated :O)
You can be sure that donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
So please dig deep and donate now, you could be part of finding a cure for Parkinsons disease.
Many thanks for your support and Good Luck messages, and remember to look out for me on TV
:O)
Lots of Love Tracy xxxx
