Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have chosen to run 2 miles per day (yes every day!) from the 1st December to 4th April 2014.  Why? I hear you ask! Well two reasons really, firstly, some of you may be aware that I have been on a personal journey, having taken up a serious fitness plan earlier this year, which having done nothing for over 20 years has been a massive challenge for me. By taking part in this national event, not only will I be challenging myself further, I will also be raising funds for a worthwhile cause.

In September 2012 two unarmed Greater Manchester police officers, PC Nicola Hughes and PC Fiona Bone, lost their lives in a gun and grenade attack.

April 2014 will see the father of PC Hughes complete the North Pole marathon in her memory. In the build up to this event police staff and officers from all 43 English and Welsh forces will individually attempt to run 250 miles over 125 days before Mr Hughes' arctic marathon. I am proud to be part of this challenge.

It's a great cause, for more information about what we are trying to achieve please visit www.pchughesnorthpolerun.co.uk

I look forward to your continued support whilst undertaking this challenge and any donation will be great fully received. Thank you.
