Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have worked for Arch for 20 years in the domestic abuse service. I have a strong commitment and passion for the work that we do to support victim/survivors and want to see this valuable work continued.
Arch domestic abuse service works with Male & female victims of domestic abuse. We run a Freedom Programme for women who are at risk of domestic abuse, this is a programme designed to help them recognise the signs and impact on them and their children. However this comes with a price tag, and we need to raise money to continue to provide this important programme to continue to raise awareness. Since this programme has been running, women have become empowered to move forward from the abuse and regain independence and control in their lives. It gives them the confidence and self esteem and helps them to provide a safe, secure environment for their children.
Approx 2 million people suffer a form of domestic abuse, this being 1.3 million women equating to 7.9% of the population, and 695,000 men equating to 4.2% of the population. An average of seven women per month were killed by a current or former partner between April 2013 and March 2016.
