Story
Over a fortnight this September David and Kenton will be travelling at least 2,500 km (and almost certainly a lot more!) from the shores of Kochi in Kerela to Jaisalmer in the desert of Rajasthan in aid of the charity Cool Earth.
Powered mostly by complete ignorance, they will be taking a 7 horsepower tuk-tuk the length of India, with only the most basic of mechanical skills and no experience of the country. In an effort to offset the stupidity and to do some good for the planet they would be exceptionally grateful if you could put a few pounds towards a great cause.
Cool Earth strive to protect our rainforests, mainly through supporting the communities who have called them home for generations, which we all know is essential for the future of the planet. They have operated across the globe for the last 15 years and have gained a wealth of support and respect for being so effective in what they do.
The team will be dressed accordingly in their best farmer gear (think dungarees and straw hats), and their specially customised three wheeled miniature tractor (Trictor? Tractuk?) will be about as good at crossing the countryside as an, um, well, a tuk-tuk.
Evidence of this foolishness will be provided in real time with the adventure beginning on 12 September. Please make sure you follow via the Instagram page @tractor_tuk
The cost of the excursion is being fully self funded, so anything you can contribute will fully go this fantastic charity (less any JustGiving fees).
Thanks for your generosity!
