Story
Hello I'm a 56 year old mum of 3 grandmother of 8.
I'm walking the entire UK coastline to raise money for the RNLI and to share my poetry and this incredible coastline with you and others
Covid changed my life I lost a job at the RSPCA I loved of 7 years, split with the love of my life after 7 years. I had moved in with him 4 years previous and was due to go to my month yearly trip to see my eldest daughter my son and my 8 grandchildren in the USA.
I found myself homeless jobless and unable to fly to the USA and with a broken heart.. I knew it was sink or swim ..... i was so broken, what has happened to my life
Where was my happy place...as a child due to abuse and trauma after losing my mum to suicide at a young age I found the sea, The sand the coast comforted me I used to wish from the age of 7 to 11 that I was a mermaid so I could swim away and never be hurt again.. at 53 I became that mermaid, I got into the sea at kynance cove Cornwall July 4th 2020 and my journey began.
I gave half my redundancy to my youngest daughter in Sheffield then bought my kit, I carry a huge 23kg backpack with the things I need to get me through each day ..especially my home MY BUG AGNES COPPER SPUR EXPEDITION 2MAN TENT I FONDLY CALL
A G G I E ❤️🏕
I walked my first year for mental health charity MIND.but after the RNLI helped me and being made welcome by every station I had passed that first year I will the help of my followers made the decision to swap to the RNLI and its been incredible. They are an absolutely awesome charity.
Here we are May 2023 I have walked over 7,500 miles, see the map on my blog....I had 2 lockdowns a broken ankle a coupke direction changes and a couple stops and starts for various reasons but i wont give up ..I am meeting the most extraordinary people seeing breathtakingly beautiful sometimes challenging coastline, human kindness more than I could have ever imagined.
It has changed me healed me, I've written over 200 poems about being a woman on the coast, poems about people I have met, poems about places I have seen.
People following my journey have been incredible and words can't express how grateful I am.
I wake up in my BIG AGNES TENT AGGIE...not knowing what I will see who I will meet where I will eat or sleep, its unpredictable but incredible.
My grandchildren call me Dora the explorer
Friends sometimes call me a flibbertyjibbit rainbow unicorn Florence Gump ha ha... but each step I take each person i meet or towns, villages, cities I cone through its like receiving another square of a patchwork quilt that connects to warm me up through the coast...the friendships I have made have been unbelievable and memories I'll carry for life...
There is sooo much more I could tell you on here but the main thing is NEVER GIVE UP....please join me on this journey and let's raise lots of money for this amazing charity
THANK YOU ALL so so much and thanks and love to my 3 beautiful children 8 grandchildren and my family and friends ❤️I love you all immensely.

SAFARI..A POEM
Safari in Swahili means journey something each of us is taking,
Following paths and directions,
With future Plans in the making,
The main journey of all is the journey of living,
This beautiful life than we have been given,
So explore all you can and bathe in lifes beauty,
Don't make it just about schedules and duty,
Plan moments of fun and days of pleasure
Make special memories you can treasure,
Hang out with loved ones swim in the sea,
Picnics and walks be happy and free,
Because its not the date you are born or the date that you die,
It's the dash in the middle that matters ..and why?
Why Because the dash is all you did in between,
The things you have done and things you have seen,
What you have given to those that matter,
The banquet of life laid out on that platter,
For you to devour to eat up and get full,
Knowing deep down there's one golden rule,
Live life like you were dying and don't live with regrets,
Make sure you're the person they wont forget,
For all that you given not for recognition or glory,
You gave from your heart and in your life story,
Was laughter and strength and wind in your hair rain on your face completely aware,
Of this gift you were given, not in ribbons and bows,
The good the bad the highs and lows,
But with every breath you were able to say,
I gave it my all On life's journey today.

If the rain .....a poem
If the rain whips my skin and the wind blows my hair
I know I'm very much alive and I really don't care,
About concrete walls and normal living,
I'm out in the wild and nature is giving,
Me a fuller life that i had before,
Where schedules and plans suffocate me no more,
I'm breathing in and breathing out,
No hidden frustration to make me shout,
Hello I'm in here but I'm suffocating,
The every day mundane is so frustrating,
I want to open the door of the rest of my life,
I'm more than "just" a women or somebodys wife,😊
I need to dip my tired feet into the sea,
Open my eyes and say hello to me,
Before its too late and life passes me by,
And I spend nights and days wondering why,
I didn't climb that mountain or walk a long hike,
Swim in the ocean and ride my new bike,
Smile at the sunshine dance in the rain,
Never look back or regret again,
The things you didn't do just remember the things you did,
Amazed by your future just like a kid,
Curious and innocent so much to explore,
So when life says start living please don't ignore,
The passion inside you to start a new chapter of your book,
Renew yourself and take a good look

Too many people are still drowning. More than ever we need the RNLI’s help. As a charity, the RNLI depends on our donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe. RNLI lifesavers are our lifeline. They’re the lifeboat crews who provide 24-hour search and rescue right around the UK and Ireland. The lifeguards keeping watch on 240 of the busiest beaches in the UK and Channel Islands. And the RNLI safety teams and educators working tirelessly to stop people getting into trouble in the first place.Thank you.
