Story
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May 2016, until this date I had a clean bill of health. Led a healthy lifestyle , always exercised, ate well and maintained a good work : life balance. I was totally devastated when given the news and suddenly my world had been turned upside down. From that day onwards I didn't look back only forward to ensure I lived life to the full.
Macmillan were there from the start and I never felt alone or in the dark. There was an abundance of care, support and information given to me and always time to talk through my concerns, dilemmas or wobbles!
Treatment plan for me involved 2 operations, followed by Chemo and Radiotherapy. I returned to full time work in May 2017. To be given the opportunity to run the London Marathon for Macmillan will help me move forward but more importantly is an honour and privilege to help fundraise for such an important charity and one that will always be close to my heart. It will be my way of saying a Big Thank You to the relentless support and guidance given from those all involved in Macmillan and especially to the Tameside Macmillan Unit. I would personally like the funds raised to be donated specifically to this newly built unit.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.
