Story
Hi I’m Tracey, the Academy Nurse at Exeter Deaf Academy. I work with some of the most inspiring, wonderful young people who deserve the start in life and education that other young people are privy to.
I am fundraising in order to facilitate the building of a brand new, purpose built Academy for these deaf young people, where their needs are catered for and in order to help them achieve their full potential in life.
I must be totally mad but back in January when I signed up for it, walking on boiling hot coals seemed like a great idea to raise money but I’m starting to think I should have done a sponsored silence or something else just as tame!!
So, please help me to raise funds by donating whatever you can and confirming that I’m not as daft as I seem in my mission as I’m aiming to raise lots of funds. Nothing is too small.
Thanks in advance.
Tracey (with ice packs and an extinguisher on standby!)
xx
Here’s a little more about our Deaf Academy......
We are a charity that gives isolated Deaf children and young people the gift of language. We pride ourselves in teaching a rich curriculum in both British Sign Language and English, making a real difference to young Deaf lives. Our Academy is a place where 5-25 year olds, from across the UK, are inspired to believe in themselves as they journey towards independence. Our current appeal aims to raise £250,000 to help build a brand new Academy in Exmouth, Devon. This will deliver world-class education and residential care facilities that our inspiring students deserve. They believe they can achieve anything. With your support, the new Deaf Academy will mean that there is no limit to their ambitions
