Last year I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. I'm extremely lucky as following surgery it was successfully removed. I have met people who are far less fortunate than me. They are either living with a brain tumour, their diagnoses is terminal or they have suffered a disability.

I always thought brain tumours were rare and were the sort of thing that happened to someone else. I mean, I have always been a fit guy, don't drink or smoke and eat a healthy diet. Four colleagues I work with family members have also been diagnosed with a brain tumour in the past. it just goes to show that brain tumours are perhaps not as rare as we hope and also how indiscriminate they are.

Please take a look at the brain tumour research website where there are some stark facts. For example, did you know that brain tumours are the biggest killers of all cancers, yet receive less than 1% of the national spend on research into cancers. There are many more facts that are as equally chilling.

Please support us, any donation is gratefully received.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
