TPT LDN Run 28-4-28, 31 January 2021
Due to the growing COVID-19 crisis we have made the heartbreaking decision to close our shop until further notice. But our guests rely on us for food and support, and we cannot stand by as people suffer. PLEASE donate anything you can - we need YOU

Story

We already all know the devastating effects Covid-19 has had on the world and on charities who depend on the public's generosity and fundraising events.
The TPT LDN RUN club are looking to take on their first charity challenge of 2021 and wanted to get as many people involved as possible.

The Challenge: 28-4-28
Within the 28 days of February, we would like you to complete a total travelling distance of either:

28 MILES (45KM)
OR
28 KM
Run it, walk it, hike it, bike it, whatever suits you!
***It of course goes without saying but please be SAFE and abide by the govt. rules when on your runs etc. for this. Do not take any unnecessary risks***

Who can participate?:
Anyone who wants to get involved.
This is supposed to be as inclusive as possible and to raise money for a good cause!

Donation amount:
£28 is suggested to keep in theme but any donation is highly generous and appreciated!
(Please please please do NOT feel obliged to give £28, we know everyone's situation is different)

Chosen charity:
https://complimentsofthehouse.org/

Compliments of The House is an entirely volunteer-led registered charity based in Brixton. They collect fresh, surplus food and redistribute to hundreds of those in-need within the community. Since launching 18 months ago, they have been supported with the personal savings of our founder, Sinead, and the unbelievable generosity of local restaurants donating their surplus food that would otherwise go to waste.

Due to COVID-19, they have taken the difficult but necessary measures to minimise the risk of infection to guests - many of whom have weakened and compromised immune systems - by temporarily closing their food re-distribution hub In Brixton.

Despite this, CotH are more determined than ever to keep on helping those that need it and to combat the social-economic effects of COVID-19, which have hugely escalated the already intense issues of food hunger, social-isolation and guests' ability to pay their rent and other household bills. Before they closed, they collected the names and numbers of the most vulnerable guests as a solution was needed to get food to them.

So with the help of the money we can raise together, we can help CotH to:
- Support hundreds of the most vulnerable people in our community
- Create bi-weekly emergency supply and food packages
- Source transportation to make the all important deliveries
- Support with utilities gas and other crucial household bills
- £40 will help provide emergency support and food for someone in-need for two weeks. Each and every donation, however small, will help us achieve this

So thats it!

Spread the word - get people involved and feel free to join the Strava club too (open for all not just TPT)! https://www.strava.com/clubs/600107
Be sure to take some videos/snaps of your endeavors and we can create another slideshow at the end
Again to stress - please BE SAFE and ensure you abide by the rules when doing this challenge. Please do not take any unnecessary risks!

LMK if anything!
Otherwise...Good luck everyone!
