Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our Aim: Some of the Travis Perkins National Sales team are going to complete a static cycle ride from Northampton to Johannesburg, South Africa. We will be setting off from our Head Office in Northampton and are aiming to arrive in Johannesburg before the start of the 2010 football world cup opening game. We have a top of the range static cycle where a team of us will be taking part in completing the 5700 miles before the 11th June 2010.

We will be keeping a milage record and plotting our virtual journey on a map. We will keep you updated showing how many miles we have clocked up and how many are left to go.

The charities we will be raising money for are the Northamptonshire and Warwickshire Air Ambulance and Keech Hospice Care. Visit: www.wnaa.co.uk and www.keech.org.uk. All funds raised will be split equally between our two nominated charities. Both these charities are local to our Head Office and it's staff and we would really appreciate your support in helping us in giving something back to them.

Our Virtual Journey:

1.) We are now 3 weeks in to our journey and we are closely approaching the Cotz d' azur in France. We have a long journey across the mediterranean and are aiming to be in Algeria in a couple of weeks. Saddle sore is almost a thing of the past!

2.) Completed our 6th week which now has seen us cover enough miles to get us into Tunisia. We have made it Africa lets hope the Sahara does not cause us to many virtual problems!! Cycle on......

3.) Half way next week. We are currently in Niger heading towards central Africa. Temperatures are warming and legs burning. We cycle on....

4.) With 7 weeks remaining have now made it across the equator and into the Southern Hemisphere. Still got 2000 miles to go!!!

5.) Two days to go until the World Cup kicks off, and more importantly we are only 50 miles from reaching Soccer City Stadium, lets hope the traffic is ok!!!.

6.) We made it!! All miles completed on time and in full. Many thanks for the donations so far and the support.
