Story
Town Church is challenging the whole church family to donate or raise a minimum of £10 during May to support the work of the Sanctuary Trust in transforming the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our island community.
You can choose to do anything to do with the number 10!
Some ideas could be:
Run, walk or cycle 10Km, ring 10 friends for a catch-up chat, tap dance for 10 minutes without stopping, bake 10 cupcakes and sell them, invite 10 friends for a fundraising coffee morning, sell 10 things on eBay and donate the cash, hold a 10 hour sponsored silence, attempt to eat the 10 hottest curries on the island, swim (or paddle) in 10 bays in May and get sponsored for it..... the possibilities really are endless!
Whatever you choose to do, the aim is to raise or donate at least £10
When you've completed your challenge please let us know what you did and donate your money here, where it will go directly to Sanctuary Trust. You can also send photos and updates to info@townchurch.org.je (You don't have to be a member of Town Church, St Helier to join in, just pick your personal 10 challenge and off you go )
Sanctuary Trust was set up in 2011 to provide sanctuary support and hope to homeless men in the community. The charity operates from two sites in the west of the Island, and can accommodate up to 24 men at any one time.A small dedicated team, of support workers deal with men facing a wide range of issues including economic hardship; unemployment, mental health issues; drug or alcohol addiction; breakdown in family relationships or domestic abuse. The Trust is largely funded through donations and fundraising initiatives with every penny raised going to maintain the services it currently provides. In addition to accommodation and support for its male clients, Sanctuary Trust also provides an outreach service. As part of our 10th anniversary year, we have new and exciting plans to extend our reach and help those in need. Since Covid-19, our services are in demand now more than ever so please help us fundraise so we can continue to provide sanctuary, support and hope to our homeless.
