Story
Motor Neurone Disease isn't like a normal illness. There's no cure. It's a prolific terrorist that still to this day, can't be caught. Killing a third within a year and a half of those diagnosed within two years. To make things worse, it does this in an merciful way, disabling its sufferers. Cruel doesn't do it justice.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) are a heartfelt crutch for people diagnosed to lean on during difficult times. This charitable organisation provide support for sufferers and their families, plus contribute for exploratory research towards medicines and supportive care.
My mum was diagnosed just over 2 years ago with MND. It's fair to say it's been a very difficult time for us all as the battle against it's progression and symptoms take hold, but my family all greatly appreciate the support being provided by MNDA.
All our family are Liverpool supporters and I personally believe in the Kop banner 'unity is strength'. You'll Never Walk Alone is more than an anthem and is philosophy we as a family live by. That's why two close friends and I are riding to Liverpool's furthest away oponent - Brighton & Hove Albion. That's circa 300 miles! For those that don't know, I'm totally new to cycling and didn't even own a bike until I decided to do this challenge. (January) I'm being told to go from 0 to 300 miles is going to be a massive challenge. Especially as we're planning on completing it in just 3 consecutive days.
Initially we planned on doing this ride aligned to LFC fixture vrs Brighton, however due to the pandemic this plan had to be amended due to obvious restrictions. The ride is now schedule for September 18th.
Please dig deep for this amazing organisation.
