A Yorkshireman and a Lancastrian have put historic rivalries aside and joined forces to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats in under five days to raise £2,000 for charity
***
THEY DID IT! It took four days, 12 hours and 55 minutes for Mike and Chris to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats! And by doing so, we've raised almost £3,000 for the Stroke Association in memory of Frank Sherwood.
The ride started on Friday 15 May with Chris and Mike leaving Land's End at 7:05am, riding 160 miles through driving rain to Bridgwater. On the Saturday they headed over the Severn Bridge and up to Warrington. Then on Sunday we reached Crawford after probably the hardest day through the Lake District. Monday saw us reaching Aviemore where there was snow on the hills, and then on Tuesday at 8:00pm excatly they crossed the finish line at John O'Groats. So a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored us. Also thank you to Enterprise Car Rentals who gave us a great rate on our hire car, and to the B&Bs in Land's End, Crawford, Aviemore and John O'Groats who gave us special discounts. If you haven't already sponsored us and would still like to we'd be very grateful indeed. Any donations, no matter how large or small, will be very much appreciated. Best wishes,
Mike and Chris (and support team - Vicky and Sarah!)
