Story
Two Hungry Horse pub managers from Wales and the south west of England are taking on a 265-mile cycle challenge that will see them pass through six counties, as part of a week of fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Daniel Merchant, who manages the Three Elms in Cardiff, and Mark Robson, manager of the Rosewood in Burnham-on-Sea, will begin their challenge at 10am on Monday 21 September at the New Stepney in Llanelli.
The plucky pair will then visit every pub that makes up what is known in Hungry Horse as ‘Area 46’. This will take them through Mid Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Avon, Somerset and finally, Devon, where they will complete their journey at the Sloop Inn in Newton Abbott at around 4pm on Saturday 26 September.
The challenge is part of a week of fundraising across over 240 Hungry Horse pubs throughout the UK in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and including the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Our aim is to raise £1000 towards Hungry Horse's total during Macmillan week in late September.
