Our Charity’s aim is to enable people to tackle the causes of poverty which blight their lives, and to help them to move beyond the need to use a food bank.  Our staff and volunteers offer a service which is caring and empathetic and is informed by what people tell us matters, so they don’t go without food for themselves and their families.

Story

Alreet!

So, as an amatuer cyclist (very amatuer) I've decided to channel some spare pandemic time into a postive cause. Myself and my girlfriend have been training for a 100km cycle around London, visiting 10 football stadiums, plus Wembley.

The route we've planned for Thursday *11 June is:

Arsenal > Tottenham > Leyton Orient > West Ham > Millwall > Crystal Palace > Chelsea > Fulham > QPR > Brentford > Wembley

The cause we have chosen is Newcastle West End Foodbank. The demand for food banks has , sadly, never been greater. Ordinarily this charity supplements it's food and cash donations with a stand outside St. James' Park on Newcastle match days. The pandemic has taken away this vital supply line (a bi-weekly footfall loss of 50,000+).

So I wanted to try and raise the amount an average season ticket at Newcastle costs.

*UPDATE*

Awful weather on 11 June has meant we have been forced to postpone until the end of the month! We've relocated to the North East for a two-week training camp in the meantime!
