Challenge: Tour De Close Call
Purpose: Have some fun, keep us active (especially for those “locked-down”!), find out more about our members, and to raise some cash for an international sports charity along the way…
Supporting: United Through Sport (justgiving.com/fundraising/tourdeclosecall)
Premise: Starting on Saturday 9th January, we will ‘tour’ around different countries of the world represented by our members on The Close Call facebook group. These will be randomly revealed after first country is completed – starting in Rwanda, which has a distance of 893km.
Rules:
1) Team challenge – two teams, Team Ped and Team Pev. Once you submit your first distance, you will be allocated a team on an alternate basis, so teams will always be even in numbers.
2) To be completed by foot - to keep it a level playing field between the two teams, all miles must be completed by foot. You can submit your distance in steps, km or miles – we want to be as inclusive as possible!
3) Points – to complete a country, the whole group must complete the distance around the border of said country. The team which contributes the greatest distance towards the overall target will be awarded the entire border distance (km) in points.
Contributing distance: to contribute, please post your daily activity/walk/run on the facebook page with the distance covered
(steps, km or miles) or message Ben Peverall or Dan Pedley. Please feel free to post pictures, a selfie, or a video of your walk, and if possible provide an initial donation to the charity we are supporting (as well as encouraging your friends / family to do the same!)
