Story
I'm taking part in the Tour de Bristol to support and fundraise for St Peter's Hospice when they need us most. Over this past year at St Peter's Hospice, the need for services and care increased considerably at the same time that delivering care became harder.
Yet when my wife Lorraine was given a terminal cancer diagnosis they were there for us. The Community Support Nurses were only a phone call away to provide advice. Two weeks before she died, Lorraine spent a week at the hospice under COVID restrictions. What she wanted most was to go home and they moved mountains to make that happen. I will never forget her last day there when the ambulance crew took us out through the garden and she could reach out to touch the plants.
I am especially grateful to the Hospice At Home team who were able to visit for all their kindness and support on Lorraine's journey up to the bitter end.
Any amount that you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
