We work in the world's toughest places to ensure children are in education.

Story

We are doing the Tough Mudder to raise funds for the Street Child Ebola Crisis appeal. Street Child of Sierra Leone is a UK based charity working to reduce the number of children living on the streets of Sierra Leone.

Street Child has found that since the beginning of the Ebola crisis over 12,000 Sierra Leonean children have lost their primary caregiver. Over 11,000 of these Ebola orphans are receiving support from Street Child. Every orphan supported by Street Child has received regular visits from a social worker, a food supply lasting 2-4 weeks, clothes and bedding.

Schools in Sierra Leone were closed for up to 9 months during the height of the Ebola crisis. During this time many children were forced to work as thousands of families had lost their sole breadwinner to Ebola. Now that schools have reopened Street Child is working closely with families to ensure that all children return to school by providing business grants allowing Ebola affected families to support themselves.

Now that news and media coverage of this crisis is no longer making headlines, it's all too easy to forget its victims. As Sierra Leoneans, this is a cause close to our hearts.  Please help us raise money for a worthwhile cause!
