Kidscan, the children's cancer research charity, is working to promote and support research into the causes, prevention, treatment and cure of cancers in children. No other charity researches into specifically children’s cancers which makes their work both unique and vital.

Story

An adventure......

The Mongol Rally 2018. Driving 10 thousand miles from Lancashire to Mongolia, all to raise money for charity. The journey in our 1.2L shed of a car will take us on motorways, mountains and deserts. Traveling through a minimum of 20 countries with an average speed of 23mph. We hope to get to the finish line within 6 weeks. We are planning on taking the most difficult route through Turkey, Iran, and finally the Pamir Highway (one of the most treacherous roads in the world).

The rules are as follows.......

- old crappy car no bigger than a 1.2 litre

- no back up or help, we're on our own. If we have a problem (breakdown) we have to fix it.

- no GPS, limited maps

- raise at least  £1000 pound for charity

Mongol Rally Stats since 2004...

- 1300 cars

- 9 is the average number of breakdowns per team

- 6 tyre changes per car

- distance travelled 177 times around the world

- total charity raised 1.6 million and rising

Thank you so much for visiting our just giving page. We would be so grateful for any donations to our chosen charities.
