Story
UPDATE- We have completed our sponsored walk!! On Sunday 26th September, 5 members of the Totnes Library team walked almost 12 miles from Totnes Library to Dartmouth Library on the John Musgrave trail, dressed as bumble bees and foxes to match our nature theme! The walk was both challenging and extremely rewarding and we are so proud we were able to complete the walk.
We want to say an extra special thank-you to the Rotary Club of Totnes and the Friends of Totnes Library for their very generous donations.
And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far, we really appreciate every penny and cannot wait to launch our new space!
Our walk- Totnes Library is fundraising for a new carpet, as part of the children’s library revamp. Totnes Library is run by Libraries Unlimited, a registered charity responsible for running libraries across Devon and Torbay.
The theme of our new children’s library will be of nature, to inspire children to be inquisitive of their surroundings and to mirror the views of the Totnes hills outside the library. We plan for the space to be interesting for children, comfortable for them to settle down to read and versatile, to be able to run regular groups and activities and to create a space for local charities to utilise.
We have been successful in securing grants to revamp our children’s library at Totnes and to ensure the space looks as amazing as possible for the Totnes community, with your help, we would love to complete the revamp with a new carpet, to replace our old one!
Your support is much appreciated!
Thank you.
