When a child’s life is expected to be short, there’s no time to waste.
Together for Short Lives is the UK charity that is here to make sure the 99,000 seriously ill children and their families can make the most of every moment they have together – whether that’s for years, months or only hours. Many of these children have complex conditions and need specialist care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- £10 could pay for a memory box to help families capture precious moments
- £25 could pay for an art therapy session for a child. Specially trained therapists can help children who may not be able to verbalise their feelings express themselves through art
- £50 could play for a family splash around in a special hydrotherapy pool. Many seriously ill children spend a lot of time in bed or a wheelchair, causing their muscles to get stiff and seize up. In water they can move more easily and even enjoy a cuddle with their families, sometimes for the first time.
