I have set up a team to enable donations to be sent in lieu of flowers to either OCHRE or The Shakespeare Hospice, in memory of dad.

The Shakespeare hospice are a team of registered nurses and health care assistants with specialist training in all aspects of Palliative and End of Life Care. They provided invaluable hospice at home support to dad and his family. This support was available 24 hours a day and nothing was too much trouble. 

They were on top of dads symptom management to promote his quality of life and were instrumental in enabling us to to keep dad at home, where he wanted to be, without compromising his health. They coordinated between the Palliative care team, District Nurses and the GP which helped take the strain off our family so we could continue to support dad ourselves. Should dad have needed it, they would have also provided emergency care whilst a package of care was set up. 

The Shakespeare hospice's support does not end at the death of a loved one, they also provide bereavement and counselling support to families left behind.

Charities like The Shakespeare hospice rely on fundraising and donations. We'd like to give a little back to show our appreciation and pay it forward to the next family in need.

Losing dad has left a massive hole in our lives. It is a comfort to us to know donations in dads memory may provide slight relief to someone else going through the same heart ache our family has endured.
