Story
On Sunday 21st April 2024, we will be running the London Marathon for Hospice UK, in memory of Tori's Dad, Paul and Hannah's Grandma's Bella and Beryl.
---
On 1st October 2018, we sadly lost Tori's Dad, Paul. This year marks 5 years since his passing - and we haven't forgotten the hospice staff that made such a huge difference in his last days. It was these people that took the time to care for him, and it was also these people that checked in to make sure we were doing okay. Both of Hannah's Grandma's also received hospice care at the end of their lives, and we know that the care they were given was equally as valuable to both them and their families. The value of hospice care cannot be overstated.
So now, 5 years on from losing Paul, we want to run the London Marathon to remember Paul, Bella and Beryl (who'd all probably think we're nuts), to say a huge thank you to the people that looked after us, and to raise money to make sure other people get looked after in the same way. Losing somebody is always incredibly tough, but everybody deserves someone to check in on them at that time - so it's time for us to run a few miles, and do our bit towards making that happen!
Those of you that know us well know that we both run (a bit), but nothing like this - so it's a huge challenge! We're super excited to do it together, and would hugely appreciate any donations you can give, big or small. We know how much difference they will make.
If you're interested, please read some more details about the wonderful Hospice UK below. Otherwise, thank you SO much for your support, and we'll see you on the finish line.
Big love,
Tori and Hannah

Hospice UK is the national charity working with the government and NHS to ensure our 200+ local hospices can survive and thrive in these challenging financial times. Hospice UK is there for children, adults and families going through death, dying, and grief.Currently, one in four UK families can’t get the care they need and deserve when their loved one is dying. This needs to change. It takes £3 million every single day to keep our local hospices open; two-thirds of this comes from individuals donations, including sponsoring people like me taking on challenges. Please sponsor our marathon and help us hit our target! Together we can make sure everyone affected by death, dying and grief gets the care they need, when they need it.
