Story
It's been a long year and our son Ian has made great progress in recovering from his Kidney condition. He is now back at work and we as a family are grateful to all the staff at The Royal Liverpool Hospital Renal Unit, especially his consultant Mathew Howse and his team, who have seen him through his treatments which ranged from diuretics to chemotherapy.
Having watched all that Ian went through last year, this ride over five days and 500K should be a "doddle", and above all its now time for me to put something back and continue to raise funds for KRUK.
I really felt that I let everybody down who had supported me last year when I was forced to quit a few days before the London Marathon, due to high blood pressure, especially as I had done the hard graft of all the training miles.
This year I have discovered my bike, so much so I am going to ride from London to Paris in August 2013.
Last year it was Run Fat Boy Run, now its "Pedal Fat Boy Pedal" clad in lycra - not a pretty sight as you can imagine. So please can you help me again for this cause which is so close to me and my family, and help research and treatment of Kidney disease that affects 3 million people in the UK.
Thank you so much, we really appreciate your kindness
Nigel Jen and Ian
