Story
My name is Teresa, I am an activity co-ordinator at Kathleen Rutland Residential home. One of our residents Tony Milsom is willing to walk 10,000 steps throughout March to raise money for Vista. I will be supporting Tony throughout this challenge.
Tony is 84 years old. He has been living at Kathleen Rutland home for nearly 3 years. He is an ex football referee, enjoys reading, watching tv, quizzes and participates in all activities within the home.
At the beginning of January 2021, unfortunately Tony tested positive for Covid19, which totally knocked him of his feet for a few weeks. With lots of care and reassurance from our lovely staff and Tony's determination he became stronger by the day and overcome the virus.
Tony loves a challenge and his family and Tony told us that he completed the British 3 Peaks Challenge and always loved going out on country walks.
Tony was diagnosed in 2018 with Alzheimers, but Tony is a very independent gentleman that goes on day to day with his daily tasks.
I feel this challenge will really help Tony with his health and wellbeing.
