For the last 3 years of his life our Dad, Tony Starkey, lived under the shadow of an incurable brain tumour. Despite this, he kept laughing, living and creating "Walk With Me", an anthology of his poetry. His poem from the book, I.N.R.I., was brilliantly set to music by our cousin Jimi. After that, a friend put us in touch with singer, song writer and guitarist Eric Appapoulay (Plan B, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Beverley Knight) who has produced an amazing and atmospheric cover version, that was released on Easter Sunday 2021.
Dad knew he was luckier than most. The average life expectancy from the first sign of a Glioblastoma Brain Tumour is just 11 months. It is always incurable, attacks young and old alike, and shatters the lives of everyone affected. That’s why Dad wanted to do everything
he possibly could to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, and fund desperately needed research to improve survival rates and help those living with brain tumours. Please donate whatever you can.
