Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In June I am aiming to complete a gruelling 12K assault course. The course includes 20ft long ice plunges, jumping over fire, crawling through mud, sliding down a 120ft water slide, crawling through more mud, running through hanging electric wires - plus your traditional 10ft walls to climb, 20ft monkey bars to traverse, log's to carry, hills to sprint and run - oh, and more mud!
For anyone who knows me, you'll know that this isn't something I've done before and not particularly looking forward to. I'm not best known for my fitness - so it'll certainly be a mental and physical challenge to say the least!!
However, I have decided to use this event to try to raise some money for a little girl who is going through her own challenge - making the above seem like a summer stroll in the park.
Ruby Laura Young was diagnosed with 'neuroblastoma' last year, which is a rare form of cancer that affects young children. I know Ruby's mother and grandmother, and I know that Ruby has been so amazingly brave and resilient throughout her treatment.
Ruby Laura, and all other children affected by this awful disease, should be an inspiration to us all to do something to help - and I plan to start by trying my hardest to complete this event in order to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful cause.
