Story
This year I am taking on some of the most physically and mentally toughest challenges I have ever faced. The biggest of these saw me run my first ultra marathon on 26th June. A run over 100km in one day in a race to Bamburgh Castle.
I started my challenges in march completing the 4/4/48 challenge, which consisted of running 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours 😅.
I then completed challenge my first trail pursuit 🏃🏼♂️🏔mountain marathon in the lakes on the 29th May
Then was the big one of 100km on the 26th June..
I am now ready to take on my last of my challenges for the year and it’s probably the hardest one yet. In readiness I will complete the manchester and Liverpool marathons in October after having a 8 week lay off through injury., and then it’s on to the big one
On the 13/14th November I will be running the national 3 peaks ( Nevis , scarfell and snowden ) and then into the Yorkshire peaks run ( pen y Ghent , whernside and ingleborough) this is over 2 marathons in distance and over 15,000ft of elevations🏔.. a quite crazy challenge to do over 2 days but one I’m looking forward to completing.
Why I am doing this ?
Every year one in four people will experience a mental health problem, but hundred of thousands of people are still struggling 🥲
I find my release through nature and exercise, especially running🏃🏼♂️ and through this I want to raise mental health awareness with the message that it’s ok to not be ok☺️ I want people to feel they are not on their own and that people are out there for them who are willing to listen, help and support.
If we are to take anything from the Covid 19 pandemic, it is to be kind to ourselves and be kind to others.
So everyone I need your help sharing my story and help me fundraise the much needed funds for my chosen charity @mindcharity a great charity, which is helping provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
Thank you everyone in advance for all your support and kind donations, together we can all make a difference to people lives 💙
