Story
My name is Tony Graham. This is my story!
Many people think Alzheimers is an old peoples illness. There is in fact an increase of young people (under 40) that are affected by this disease. I was diagnosed at 38 in 2009. Contrary to popular belief that Alzheimers is not hereditary, recent medical tests have found the Alzheimers gene runs through my family. Sadly my father was effected and my brother has been recently informed he has the same fautly gene.
I have two young sons, and unfortunately there is a high possibility they may also have inherited the faulty gene. This is my opportunity to raise awareness of the illness and raise money for this deserving charity. My goal is to help in the medical research to find a cure to treat and support patients and their families going on this difficult journey.
To help me reach the target of £500, a group of colleagues from Manheim are taking part in the Jane Tomlinson Run for All in Leeds on Sunday 19th June.
I will also like to take this opportunity to thank my partner Jayne with the help and support she's provided since i was diagnosed. Not forgetting a special thanks to David Gaines, David Main, Phil Toland, Derek Ryan, Craig Coxon, Martin Freeth & Luis Fernandes who are participating in the race to raise money for this charity.
I fully appreciate everyone is going through tough times at the moment, but even a couple of pounds can make a difference to a worthy cause.
Many Thanks
Tony
